The SGS 36240 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in non-ferrous metal applications. It features a 3/8 inch mill diameter, a 1/2 inch length of cut, and a 0.09 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations and extends tool life at the cutting edge. With 3 helical flutes, a right-hand cutting direction, and a TiB2 (Ti-NAMITE-B) coating, this tool delivers efficient chip evacuation and surface finish quality in aluminum, copper, brass, and similar materials. The straight-cylindrical shank and extended reach design make it compatible with standard end mill holders used in CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is suited for roughing operations on non-ferrous metals in both production and job-shop environments. The Series 43LC short-length, extended-reach geometry positions it for applications where clearance is needed beyond the immediate workpiece surface. Machinists and CNC operators working on aluminum components, fixtures, and mold features will find the coarse pitch and high helix angle effective for aggressive material removal with reduced chatter. It is a single-end tool intended for use in end mill holders.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders. Intended for machining non-ferrous metals including aluminum, copper, and brass. Suitable for CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting a 3/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is clear before inserting or removing the end mill. Secure the shank to the full recommended engagement depth in the end mill holder to prevent pullout under cutting loads. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning production cuts, and confirm cutting parameters are appropriate for the workpiece material and machine capability.
