The SGS 36222 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. It features a 5/8 inch cutting diameter, a 1-1/4 inch length of cut, and a 0.06 inch corner radius that helps reduce stress concentrations at workpiece corners and extend tool life. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. An AlTiN coating adds heat and wear resistance, making this tool well-suited for high-speed dry or semi-dry cutting applications. Centercutting geometry allows plunge entry. This tool is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators working in production or job-shop environments.
The SGS 36222 is appropriate for milling slots, pockets, and profiling operations in ferrous metals, hardened steels, and other demanding materials where coating performance and edge integrity are critical. The regular-length body and 5/8 inch shank diameter make it compatible with standard ER and end mill holders at that bore size. The coarse pitch and spiral flute design are suited to both roughing and finishing passes depending on feed and speed parameters. This tool fits CNC vertical machining centers and manual mills equipped with the appropriate collet or tool holder.
Designed for use in standard end mill holders or ER collet chucks accepting a 5/8 inch shank diameter. Suitable for CNC machining centers and manual milling machines configured for solid carbide tooling in that bore size.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine in a safe, locked-out state. Ensure the holder bore and shank are clean and free of chips before seating the tool. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping to confirm proper seating. Consult your machine tool manufacturer and speeds-and-feeds reference for appropriate cutting parameters based on workpiece material and depth of cut.
