The SGS 35694 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-efficiency material removal in non-ferrous metal applications. It features a 1/2-inch cutting diameter, a 1-inch length of cut, and a 0.015-inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at part corners and extends tool life. The TiB2 (Ti-NAMITE-B) coating lowers friction and improves edge wear resistance in aluminum and other non-ferrous workpiece materials. With 3 right-hand helical flutes, a coarse pitch, and a high helix style, this end mill is configured for aggressive roughing cuts. It is a single-end, straight-shank tool intended for use in end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is built for roughing operations on non-ferrous metals, including aluminum alloys and similar materials. The short-length geometry and 3-inch overall length make it well suited to setups where rigidity and chip clearance are priorities. The 1/2-inch straight cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance fits standard end mill holders without modification. Machinists and CNC operators working in production shops, job shops, and toolrooms will find this tool appropriate for slotting, profiling, and pocketing operations where a blended corner radius is required by part geometry.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders accepting a 1/2-inch straight cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material classification is non-ferrous metal (Material Code N), per SGS Series 43CR application guidelines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine powered down and the spindle fully stopped before tool changes. Seat the shank fully in the end mill holder and verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or feed rate for the workpiece material and machine setup. Inspect the cutting edges and corner radius for wear or chipping at regular intervals, as TiB2-coated carbide tools can fail rapidly if run beyond their service life.
