The SGS 35667 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling of non-ferrous metals. The 1/4 inch diameter tool features a 0.0300 inch corner radius and three right-hand helical flutes with a coarse pitch for efficient chip evacuation during roughing operations. A Titanium Diboride (TiB2) coating, marketed under SGS proprietary designation Ti-NAMITE-B, reduces friction and extends tool life in aluminum, copper, and other non-ferrous workpiece materials. The overall length is 2.5 inches with a 3/8 inch length of cut. Machinists and CNC operators install this end mill in standard end mill holders for short-reach roughing applications.
This end mill is suited for roughing passes on non-ferrous metal workpieces in CNC machining centers and manual mills. Its single-end, straight-cylindrical shank with a 1/4 inch diameter fits directly into end mill holders without adapters. The high helix, right-hand cutting geometry promotes smooth chip flow in aluminum and other gummy non-ferrous alloys. The short flute length classification makes it appropriate for shallow-depth, high-feed roughing cuts where rigidity is a priority.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders accepting a 1/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Intended for non-ferrous metal workpiece materials per SGS Series 43CR application guidelines.
A qualified machinist or CNC operator should install this end mill in a clean, properly sized end mill holder, torquing the set screw or collet to the holder manufacturer specification. Confirm spindle rotation is set to right-hand before cutting. Inspect the cutting edges and corner radius for chipping before each use, as carbide tools are brittle and sensitive to interrupted cuts or improper runout. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and machine tool manufacturer guidelines when setting tool length offsets.
