The SGS 35615 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling of non-ferrous metals. It features a 1/2 inch diameter with a 0.12 inch corner radius, three helical flutes in a right-hand cutting direction, and a long-length configuration with 1-5/8 inches of length of cut and 4 inches overall length. The 38-degree high helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation in aluminum, copper, brass, and similar materials. This tool ships uncoated and is built for use in roughing material removal applications. It seats into standard end mill holders with a straight cylindrical 1/2 inch shank.
The 35615 is suited for horizontal and vertical CNC machining centers as well as manual knee mills running non-ferrous workpieces. Its single-end, corner radius geometry reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge, making it appropriate for side milling, slotting, and profiling passes where sharp corner breakout would compromise part quality. The coarse pitch and high helix make it a practical choice for production shops running aluminum structural components, fixture plates, and similar parts.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders. Primary workpiece material is non-ferrous metal. Not recommended for ferrous or hardened steel applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Secure the shank in a properly sized end mill holder or collet to the manufacturer-specified retention depth before running. Confirm spindle direction is set to right-hand rotation before engaging the cut. Inspect the tool for edge chipping or runout before each setup to avoid premature failure or dimensional error.
