The SGS 35581 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision material removal in non-ferrous metal machining applications. It features a 1/4 inch cutting diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 0.01 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the tool tip and extends cutter life in profiling and slotting operations. With 3 right-hand helical flutes and a coarse pitch geometry, the 35581 is configured for roughing passes where chip evacuation and tool rigidity are the primary concerns. Machinists and toolroom professionals specify this cutter for production and job-shop environments running aluminum, brass, copper, and similar non-ferrous workpiece materials.
The SGS 35581 is suited for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills handling non-ferrous metals. Its single-end, straight cylindrical shank mates directly with standard end mill holders, making it straightforward to deploy in existing tooling setups. The long-length configuration with a 3 inch overall length provides extended reach for deeper pockets and stepped features without requiring specialty toolholding. The uncoated bright finish is appropriate for non-ferrous applications where coating adhesion or heat buildup is not a primary concern.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines. Specified for non-ferrous metal workpiece materials including aluminum, brass, and copper alloys. Compatible with Series 43CR tooling conventions.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine placed in a safe, locked-out state. Secure the straight cylindrical shank in a properly sized end mill holder and torque the set screw or collet to the holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut. Do not use this cutter on ferrous materials, as it is designed and toleranced for non-ferrous applications.
