The SGS 35576 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling of non-ferrous metals. It features a 1/4 inch diameter with a 0.015 inch corner radius and three helical flutes configured for right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction. The 3/8 inch length of cut and 2.5 inch overall length place it in the short-length category, making it well suited for rigid setups where tool deflection must be minimized. It runs on a straight cylindrical 1/4 inch shank compatible with standard end mill holders. The uncoated bright finish is appropriate for aluminum, copper, brass, and other non-ferrous workpiece materials where coating buildup or chemical reactivity is a concern.
This end mill is intended for roughing operations on non-ferrous metals in CNC machining centers and manual mills. The coarse pitch, high helix geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation in gummy or stringy materials such as aluminum alloys. It is a single-end tool with a center-cutting configuration, allowing it to plunge directly into a workpiece when required. Machinists, tool-and-die shops, and production machine shops working in aerospace, automotive, and general fabrication applications will find this geometry effective for slotting, profiling, and pocket milling in non-ferrous stock.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders. Intended for machining non-ferrous metals including aluminum, brass, copper, and similar materials. Series 43CR geometry.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's guidelines for tool holding and runout tolerances. Secure the shank fully within the end mill holder to the manufacturer-specified minimum insertion depth before tightening. Verify spindle runout before commencing cuts, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear and compromise corner radius accuracy. Do not use this uncoated tool on ferrous materials, as it is rated for non-ferrous workpiece materials only.
