The SGS 35273 is a single-end square end mill ground from solid micrograin carbide, designed for precise milling of non-ferrous metals in CNC machining and manual milling applications. The tool measures 0.0625 inches in diameter with a 3/16-inch length of cut and a 1/8-inch straight cylindrical shank. A 30-degree right-hand spiral helix promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. At 1-1/2 inches overall length, this is a compact, rigidly constructed tool suited for fine-detail work in tight geometries. It is center-cutting, allowing plunge entry directly into workpiece material.
This end mill is intended for machining non-ferrous metals including aluminum, brass, copper, and similar materials. Its small diameter and short length of cut make it well suited for slot milling, profiling, and pocket operations where precision and feature fidelity are critical. The micrograin carbide substrate supports sharp edge retention at higher spindle speeds typical of non-ferrous applications. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC operators working on small-part production and prototype machining are the primary users of this tool.
Designed for use in standard 1/8-inch collet or end mill holder systems on CNC machining centers and manual mills; primary workpiece material compatibility is non-ferrous metal as designated by material code N in the SGS Series 52 product line.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before inserting or removing the tool from the collet. Verify collet size matches the 1/8-inch shank diameter and that runout is within acceptable limits before beginning a cut. Do not exceed the rated length of cut; extending tool engagement beyond the stated 3/16-inch LOC will increase deflection and risk tool breakage at this diameter.
