The SGS 35127 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance finishing operations in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. It features a 1/4 inch cutting diameter, a 0.015 inch corner radius, and six flutes arranged in a close-pitch, variable-index spiral configuration. The TX coating provides surface hardness and wear resistance suited to demanding ferrous and hard-material applications. With an overall length of 4 inches and a 3/8 inch length of cut, this tool fits standard end mill toolholders and is intended for use by machinists and toolroom professionals working on CNC mills and machining centers.
This end mill is built for finishing passes on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Its extended reach design, with a 1-1/8 inch reach length and a reduced neck diameter of 0.237 inches, allows access to deeper pockets and stepped features without excessive deflection. The single-end, right-hand cut, right-hand flute geometry with a high helix angle promotes chip evacuation and smooth surface finish. It is suited to close-tolerance finishing work where corner integrity and dimensional accuracy are critical.
Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. Secondary application covers hard materials. Part of the SGS Series 51CR.
Installation is performed by machinists or toolroom technicians on CNC machining centers or manual mills. Ensure the toolholder bore and collet are clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Verify runout at the spindle before engaging the cut, as corner radius tools are sensitive to toolholder concentricity. Follow machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety protocols when changing or setting tools.
