The SGS 35115 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. It features a 0.5 inch mill diameter, a 0.03 inch corner radius, and 6 helical flutes with a variable index geometry that reduces harmonic vibration during cutting. The tool carries a TX coating for increased surface hardness and wear resistance. With a 1.25 inch length of cut and 3 inch overall length, it is sized for standard end mill holders used in CNC machining centers and manual mills. This tool is intended for finishing operations and is part of the SGS Series 51CR line.
The SGS 35115 is suited for precision finishing cuts in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The close pitch flute spacing and right-hand cutting direction make it appropriate for controlled finishing passes where surface finish and dimensional accuracy are critical. It is commonly used in job shops, aerospace component machining, die and mold work, and general metalworking environments where tool life and edge integrity under load are priorities.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders. Compatible with CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 0.5 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Use the appropriate end mill holder torque procedure per the holder manufacturer's guidelines and verify runout with a dial indicator before production cutting. Do not use this tool for roughing operations — it is rated for finishing material removal.
