The SGS 34809 is a single-end corner radius end mill designed for high-efficiency material removal in non-ferrous metal applications. It features a 3/4 inch cutting diameter with a 0.09 inch corner radius, a 1-5/8 inch length of cut, and a 4 inch overall length. The tool is constructed from solid carbide and finished with a TiB2 (Ti-NAMITE-B) coating, which improves hardness and wear resistance for demanding cutting cycles. The 38-degree high helix angle promotes aggressive chip evacuation and reduces heat buildup at the cutting edge. This end mill is part of the Series 43CR lineup and is intended for use by machinists and tooling professionals in production and job-shop environments.
The SGS 34809 is optimized for roughing operations in non-ferrous metals, including aluminum alloys and similar materials. Its coarse pitch and high helix geometry make it well-suited for high-speed, high-material-removal-rate setups on CNC machining centers. The straight cylindrical shank accepts standard end mill holders. The tool is not center-cutting and is designed for peripheral and profiling cuts rather than plunge operations. It is appropriate for both production shops running repeat programs and tool-and-die environments requiring reliable corner geometry.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders accepting a 3/4 inch straight cylindrical shank. Optimized for non-ferrous metal workpiece materials as indicated by material application code N.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's spindle and toolholder specifications. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the end mill holder and torque set screws or collet nuts according to the holder manufacturer's guidelines. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before commencing a cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear and degrades corner radius accuracy.
