The SGS 34796 is a single-end corner radius end mill designed for high-efficiency material removal in non-ferrous metal applications. Built from solid carbide with a TiB2 (Ti-NAMITE-B) coating, it delivers hardness and thermal resistance suited to demanding machining environments. The tool features a 1/4 inch mill diameter, a 0.0300 inch corner radius, and a 3-flute, right-hand spiral flute design with a high-helix angle of 38 degrees. At 2.5 inches overall length with a 3/4 inch length of cut, it fits standard end mill toolholders with a 1/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Machinists and CNC operators working with aluminum, brass, copper, and similar non-ferrous materials specify this series for coarse-pitch roughing passes where edge integrity at the corner radius is critical.
The SGS 34796 belongs to the Series 43CR, a line built specifically for non-ferrous metal cutting. It is suited to CNC machining centers and manual mills using standard end mill toolholders. Typical applications include profiling, slotting, and peripheral milling in production and job-shop environments where a radius corner break is required on the finished edge. The coarse pitch and high helix promote efficient chip evacuation in gummy or stringy non-ferrous alloys, reducing recutting and heat buildup at the cutting edge. This tool is not center-cutting and is not designed for plunge entry.

Installation is performed by machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Verify runout after tool installation, as excessive runout will accelerate wear and degrade corner radius geometry. This tool is not center-cutting; always enter the workpiece from the periphery or use a pre-drilled hole for pocket operations.
