The SGS 34794 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance milling in non-ferrous metal applications. It features a 3/16 inch (0.1875 inch) mill diameter, a 9/16 inch (0.5625 inch) length of cut, and a 0.0100 inch corner radius that provides edge protection and smooth surface finishes at the transition between the flank and end. The tool carries a TiB2 (Ti-NAMITE-B) coating optimized for aluminum and other non-ferrous workpiece materials. With a 38-degree high helix angle and 3 flutes in a right-hand spiral configuration, it promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduced cutting forces. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling professionals use this end mill for finishing and light roughing passes where edge integrity is critical.
The SGS 34794 is designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with standard end mill toolholders. It is built for primary use on non-ferrous metals including aluminum, brass, and copper alloys. The single-end configuration, straight cylindrical shank, and coarse pitch flute geometry suit applications demanding precise corner geometry without chip re-cutting. The 2 inch overall length and 3/16 inch shank diameter make it compatible with common collet and shrink-fit toolholder systems used in production and job-shop environments.
Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders including collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, and hydraulic chucks accepting a 3/16 inch straight cylindrical shank. Part of the SGS Series 43CR corner radius end mill line, intended for non-ferrous metal workpiece materials (Material Application Code: N).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Verify runout at the cutting edge after clamping, as corner radius tools are sensitive to radial runout that affects surface finish and corner geometry accuracy. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque specifications for drawbar or collet nut tightening.
