Product Description

The SGS 34751 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-precision milling of non-ferrous metals. It features a 1 inch cutting diameter, a 1-1/4 inch length of cut, and a 4 inch overall length with a 1 inch straight-cylindrical shank. The three-flute geometry and 38-degree helix angle support efficient chip evacuation and surface finish quality in aluminum, copper, brass, and similar materials. A titanium diboride (TiB2) coating reduces friction and improves tool life in non-ferrous applications. This is a right-hand cut, right-hand flute configuration belonging to the SGS Series 43 product line.

This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills used in production and job-shop environments. It is optimized for non-ferrous metal workpieces, making it a common choice for aerospace, automotive, and general fabrication work where aluminum or copper alloys are predominant. The regular-length classification and straight shank make it compatible with standard ER and side-lock toolholders at 1 inch bore. This is not a centercutting tool and is not intended for plunge entry cuts.

Installation Notes

Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out state per standard lockout/tagout procedures. Ensure the toolholder bore and shank are clean and free of chips before seating. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping before beginning a cut. Because this tool is non-centercutting, always use a pre-drilled entry point or ramp entry strategy when starting a pocket.
