The SGS 34733 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling of non-ferrous metals. It features a 5/16 inch cutting diameter, a 7/16 inch length of cut, and a 3-flute configuration with a 38-degree right-hand helix. The TiB2 (titanium diboride) coating improves wear resistance and reduces built-up edge when cutting aluminum, copper, brass, and similar non-ferrous materials. Manufactured from micrograin carbide, this single-end tool holds tight diameter tolerances and is suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills where surface finish and dimensional accuracy are critical.
The SGS 34733 is intended for use on non-ferrous metal workpieces, including aluminum alloys, copper, and brass, in both production and job-shop environments. Its regular-length profile and straight cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard collet chucks and end mill holders. The 3-flute design balances chip evacuation and rigidity, making it a practical choice for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations on lighter-duty cuts where chip clearance is a priority.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with collet chucks or end mill holders accepting a 5/16 inch straight cylindrical shank.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked out before loading or removing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder and torque the retention hardware according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut to avoid premature tool wear or workpiece damage.
