The SGS 34673 is a single-end ball end mill designed for finishing operations in non-ferrous metal applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with TiB2, this tool delivers consistent edge retention and surface finish quality. It features a 0.375-inch mill diameter, a 1-inch length of cut, and a 2.5-inch overall length. The 35-degree right-hand helix promotes efficient chip evacuation during high-speed passes. With a 3/8-inch shank diameter and right-hand cutting direction, it fits standard CNC and manual milling setups. This end mill is suited for machinists and toolroom professionals working with aluminum, brass, copper, and similar non-ferrous materials.
The SGS 34673 belongs to the Series 47B lineup and is configured as a single-end, 2-flute tool with a spiral flute geometry. Its regular length profile makes it a practical choice for finish milling contoured surfaces, pockets, and complex 3D profiles in non-ferrous stock. The TiB2 coating provides low friction and added wear resistance without the heat buildup associated with ferrous-focused coatings. This tool is appropriate for job shops, production machining environments, and toolrooms where non-ferrous finishing passes require tight dimensional control.
Designed for use with non-ferrous metals including aluminum, brass, and copper. Intended for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 3/8-inch straight shank. Series 47B configuration.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with end mill toolholding and runout requirements. Ensure the machine spindle and toolholder are clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Verify shank engagement depth meets toolholder manufacturer minimums before operation. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when setting speeds and feeds for the workpiece material.
