The SGS 34664 is a 2-flute solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling of non-ferrous metals and similar materials. With a 3/8-inch mill diameter, 1-inch length of cut, and 2-1/2-inch overall length, this tool delivers accurate, repeatable cutting performance in CNC machining and manual milling operations. The TiB2 (titanium diboride) finish reduces friction and improves chip flow on non-ferrous workpieces. A 35-degree helix angle promotes smooth cutting action and efficient chip evacuation. This is a centercutting design, allowing plunge entry directly into the workpiece. Machinists and tooling professionals in production and job shop environments are the primary users of this end mill.
The SGS 34664 is suited for milling non-ferrous metals including aluminum, brass, copper, and similar materials where a sharp, low-friction edge is critical. The regular-length geometry and straight-cylindrical shank fit standard collet chucks and end mill holders. Right-hand cut with right-hand spiral flutes makes this a conventional setup for most vertical machining centers and manual knee mills. The Series 47 designation identifies it within the SGS product family designed for non-ferrous applications.
Designed as a drop-in replacement or standard tooling addition for CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and manual milling machines accepting a 3/8-inch straight shank. Primary workpiece material compatibility is non-ferrous metals (material code N).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked out before changing tooling. Secure the shank to the correct collet or holder torque specification per the machine manufacturer guidelines — do not rely on hand-tightening alone. Verify runout after seating the tool to avoid premature wear or dimensional error in the finished part.
