The SGS 34660 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precise milling of non-ferrous metals and similar materials. This single-end tool features a 1/8-inch cutting diameter, a 3/8-inch length of cut, and a 1-1/2-inch overall length. It is ground with a TiB2 (titanium diboride) finish that reduces built-up edge and improves tool life in aluminum, copper, brass, and other N-group workpiece materials. The 2-flute, spiral-flute geometry provides efficient chip evacuation in softer materials. A 35-degree helix angle promotes smooth cutting action. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops, aerospace, and general fabrication install this end mill in standard milling machines and machining centers.
The SGS 34660 is suited for slotting, profiling, and plunging operations in non-ferrous metals. Its centercutting design allows direct plunge entry without pre-drilling. The straight cylindrical shank with a 1/8-inch diameter fits standard collets and tool holders used in benchtop CNC routers and full-size vertical machining centers. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry are standard for conventional milling setups. This is a regular-length tool, making it appropriate for general-purpose work where extended reach is not required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide end mill for standard 1/8-inch collets and tool holders in CNC machining centers, manual vertical mills, and CNC routers. Primary workpiece material is non-ferrous metal (Material Code N).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down or placed in a safe-to-tool state before changing end mills. Seat the shank fully into the collet to the recommended gauge length and torque the collet nut per the tool holder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, as solid carbide tools can fracture if mishandled or dropped.
