The SGS 34635 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for finishing operations in non-ferrous metal applications. It features a 0.5-inch mill diameter, a 1.25-inch length of cut, and a 3.25-inch overall length, making it well suited for profiling, contouring, and 3D surface work. The 2-flute configuration and 35-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation in aluminum, brass, copper, and similar materials. The micrograin carbide substrate provides the hardness and edge retention required for tight-tolerance finishing passes at elevated speeds.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills where precision profiling of non-ferrous workpieces is required. The single-end, right-hand cutting and right-hand flute design is standard for conventional and climb milling setups. The uncoated finish suits applications where a coating is not required or where post-grind reconditioning is planned. It is a regular-length Series 47B tool from SGS, sized for general-purpose finishing work on non-ferrous stock.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit tooling option for standard 0.5-inch collet and end mill holders used in CNC machining centers and manual mills running non-ferrous metal finishing operations.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before loading or removing end mills. Seat the 0.5-inch shank fully in the collet or end mill holder to the recommended engagement depth before tightening. Verify runout with a dial indicator after seating; excessive runout will accelerate edge wear and degrade surface finish.
