The SGS 34622 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in non-ferrous metal applications. Built from micrograin carbide, this single-end tool features a 0.25 inch diameter cutting head, a 0.75 inch length of cut, and a 35-degree right-hand helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation in aluminum, brass, copper, and similar materials. The two-flute geometry provides more chip clearance than higher-flute counts, making it well suited for slotting and pocketing in softer workpiece materials. Machinists and tooling professionals working on CNC machining centers or manual mills use this tool for close-tolerance profiling and contouring work.
The SGS 34622 is intended for use with non-ferrous metals as its primary workpiece material. Its straight-cylindrical shank fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders with a 0.25 inch bore. At 2.5 inches overall length with a regular-length classification, this tool is appropriate for standard-reach milling applications where extended reach tooling is not required. The bright uncoated finish makes it suitable for use with or without coolant in appropriate non-ferrous cutting conditions.
Designed for use with non-ferrous metals including aluminum, brass, and copper. Fits any standard 0.25 inch collet chuck or end mill holder on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation and tool changes must be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered down and the spindle fully stopped. Ensure the collet chuck or end mill holder is clean and free of chips before seating the shank. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation to confirm concentricity within acceptable tolerances for the application. Follow the machine manufacturer and tooling manufacturer guidelines for speeds, feeds, and depth of cut when programming or setting up the cut.
