The SGS 33420 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. It features a 3/4 inch cutting diameter, a 4 inch length of cut (LOC), and a 0.03 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life in demanding materials. With 3 flutes and a coarse pitch configuration, the 33420 promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The 38-degree helix angle enhances shear cutting performance. This tool is centercutting, allowing plunge entry into workpieces. It is intended for use by machinists and toolroom professionals on CNC mills, manual mills, and machining centers.
The SGS 33420 is suited for roughing and finishing passes on ferrous and non-ferrous metals where a controlled corner radius profile is required. The bright/uncoated finish makes this end mill a reliable choice for general-purpose milling where coating is not required by the application. The 3/4 inch shank diameter matches the cutting diameter for straightforward collet or end mill holder setup. A 6 inch overall length (OAL) provides reach for deeper pockets and extended-depth features without requiring a specialized extended-reach configuration.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling selection for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 3/4 inch straight shank end mill holder or collet chuck. Part of the SGS Series 43 end mill family.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or end mill holder to the recommended engagement depth and torque the retention mechanism per the tool holder manufacturer's specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before initiating cutting operations.
