The SGS 33415 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and manufacturing environments. It features a 5/8 inch cutting diameter, a 3-1/4 inch length of cut (LOC), and a 0.03 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life in demanding applications. The 3-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with a 38-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. The bright/uncoated finish makes it well suited for non-ferrous metals and general-purpose milling. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers working on vertical or horizontal machining centers.
The SGS 33415 is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a radiused corner is required to avoid sharp-corner stress risers. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, giving the operator flexibility to ramp or plunge directly into the workpiece. Typical applications include mold and die work, aerospace component machining, and general job-shop part production requiring tight corner tolerances.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide corner radius end mill in the SGS Series 43 line, compatible with standard ER or end mill collet holders accepting a 5/8 inch shank diameter on CNC and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the 5/8 inch shank fully into a collet or end mill holder and torque the retention nut to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, and confirm feeds, speeds, and depth of cut are appropriate for the workpiece material before engaging the tool.
