The SGS 33394 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With a 1/4 inch cutting diameter and a 0.02 inch corner radius, it produces a controlled edge break that reduces stress concentration and extends tool life at the workpiece corner. The 3-flute geometry balances chip evacuation with rigidity, making it well suited for profiling, slotting, and light pocket milling. A 38-degree helix angle promotes smooth cutting action and efficient chip flow. The bright, uncoated finish keeps the tool ready for use out of the box and is appropriate for dry cutting or standard coolant applications. This tool is installed and operated by machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC operators in production and job shop environments.
The SGS 33394 fits standard 1/4 inch collet or end mill holder tooling systems used on vertical machining centers, CNC milling machines, and manual knee mills. Its 1-1/4 inch length of cut and 3-1/2 inch overall length make it appropriate for moderate-depth profiling and finish passes where reach beyond a standard short-series tool is needed. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, adding flexibility for ramping and interpolation strategies. It is a Series 43 tool in the SGS lineup, intended for general-purpose machining applications.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or direct-use corner radius end mill for 1/4 inch collet chucks and end mill holders on standard CNC and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is clean and free of debris before seating the tool. Secure the shank in a properly sized 1/4 inch collet or end mill holder to the torque specification listed by the toolholder manufacturer. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout will accelerate wear and degrade surface finish.
