The SGS 33352 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining environments. Built to Series 33CR specifications, it features a 5/8-inch diameter, a 1-1/2-inch length of cut, and a 0.04-inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the cut edge and extends tool life. The variable helix geometry disrupts harmonic chatter, allowing for more aggressive feed rates and smoother finishes. An AlTiN coating, marketed under SGS's Ti-NAMITE-A designation, provides thermal resistance and oxidation protection at elevated cutting temperatures. This tool is installed by machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, production facilities, and aerospace manufacturing settings.
This end mill is engineered for roughing operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium, and is rated for secondary use on hard materials. The coarse pitch flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation in these tough materials. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard end mill holders and is sized at 5/8 inch with an h6 shank diameter tolerance for a secure, repeatable grip in the holder. Install in a compatible end mill holder and torque the set screw or collet according to the holder manufacturer's specifications. Verify runout at the cutting diameter before beginning the operation, as excessive runout accelerates wear on a corner radius tool. This tool is not centercutting — do not plunge directly into solid material; use a ramping or helical entry path. Confirm that spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and depth of cut before engaging the cut.
