The SGS 33347 is a single-end corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with AlTiN (Ti-NAMITE-A), it delivers heat resistance and edge retention when cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. The 3-flute geometry features a variable helix and coarse pitch for efficient chip evacuation during roughing operations. The 0.02-inch corner radius reduces edge chipping and extends tool life compared to sharp-corner end mills. At 0.25-inch diameter with a 0.75-inch length of cut and 2.5-inch overall length, this tool suits tight-tolerance slotting, profiling, and pocket milling where both rigidity and surface finish matter.
The SGS 33347 is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills where a straight-cylindrical shank toolholder is in use. It is suited for roughing passes in steel and stainless steel as well as hard materials. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute spiral make it compatible with standard spindle rotation. Its centercutting-capable design and variable index allow it to handle a range of entry strategies and reduce chatter in interrupted cuts. Machinists working in aerospace, tool and die, and precision fabrication shops will find this end mill well matched to production and prototype work in difficult materials.
Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders accepting a 0.25-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Intended for primary use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium, with secondary application in hard materials per SGS Series 33C material application guidelines.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before inserting or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully in the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before starting the cut, and confirm feed and speed parameters are appropriate for the workpiece material and depth of cut.
