The SGS 33327 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in a wide range of metalworking applications. With a 3/8-inch cutting diameter and a 1-3/4-inch length of cut, this tool delivers clean, flat-bottomed slots, pockets, and profiles. The extra-long 4-inch overall length gives machinists additional reach in deep-cavity and extended-reach setups. Manufactured from micrograin solid carbide, the 33327 offers excellent rigidity and edge retention compared to HSS tooling. The 30-degree right-hand spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. This is a centercutting tool, allowing direct plunge entry into workpiece material.
The SGS 33327 is suited for milling operations on a broad spectrum of materials including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, steel alloys, stainless steel, heat-resistant superalloys, and non-metallic materials, corresponding to material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. The straight cylindrical shank fits standard collet and end mill holders used on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. The uncoated finish makes this tool a straightforward choice for general-purpose milling or applications where a specific coating is not required. It is sold individually and is appropriate for job shops, production facilities, and toolroom use.
Designed for use with standard 3/8-inch collets and end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines. Compatible workpiece material codes include H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering cast iron, non-ferrous, steel, stainless, superalloys, and non-metallic materials. Part of the SGS Series 3EL extra-long end mill line.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety protocols. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Verify the shank is clean and seated fully in the collet or holder before torquing to the tool holder manufacturer's specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator after installation to protect edge life and part tolerance.
