The SGS 33324 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations across a wide range of workpiece materials. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers consistent cutting performance and edge retention in demanding applications. The 0.25-inch diameter tool features a 1.5-inch length of cut and a 4-inch overall length, placing it in the extra-long category for reach into deep pockets, cavities, and contoured surfaces. The 30-degree helix angle and two-flute spiral geometry promote efficient chip evacuation during both roughing and finishing passes. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC tooling professionals working in job shops, production facilities, and tool rooms.
The SGS 33324 suits contouring, profiling, slotting, and plunge operations where a ball nose geometry is required. Its extra-long reach makes it appropriate for mold and die work, deep-pocket machining, and multi-axis CNC applications. The uncoated micrograin carbide construction is suitable for use across several primary workpiece material categories including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, heat-resistant alloys, steel, and high-temperature alloys. Single-end configuration means the cutting geometry is on one end only, which is standard for precision toolroom and production use.
Designed for use in standard 1/4-inch collet chucks, end mill holders, and compatible toolholding systems on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines. Primary workpiece material codes listed by the manufacturer are H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering cast iron, non-ferrous, stainless steel, heat-resistant alloys, steel, and high-temperature alloy materials.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's toolholding torque and runout specifications. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, powered-down state before changing tooling. Verify collet and holder cleanliness to maintain shank diameter tolerance and minimize runout. Do not exceed the manufacturer's recommended feeds, speeds, and depth-of-cut parameters for the workpiece material being machined.
