The SGS 33307 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in a wide range of metalworking applications. Built to Series 3L long-length standards, it features a 3/8 inch cutting diameter, a 1-1/8 inch length of cut, and a 3 inch overall length with a straight cylindrical 3/8 inch shank. The micrograin carbide construction provides the hardness and wear resistance needed for consistent performance in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With 2 flutes and a 30-degree helix angle, this end mill delivers efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. It is centercutting, allowing plunge entry into the workpiece without a pre-drilled hole.
This end mill is suited for general-purpose milling operations including slotting, profiling, and contouring on CNC machining centers and manual mills. The long length of cut makes it appropriate for applications requiring extended reach into pockets or along stepped features. Its right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute configuration is the standard orientation for conventional milling setups. The uncoated finish is appropriate for use with cutting fluids in ferrous and non-ferrous stock removal operations. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC operators working in job shops or production environments are the primary users of this tooling.
Compatible with workpiece materials classified under codes H, K, M, N, P, and S, which correspond to hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous metals, carbon and alloy steels, and heat-resistant superalloys. Fits any standard 3/8 inch collet or end mill holder. Designed as a long-series replacement or addition for applications where standard-length end mills lack sufficient reach.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or spindle lock is engaged before seating or removing the end mill. The shank should be inserted to full collet or holder depth and torqued to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cut, especially for tight-tolerance work.
