The SGS 33144 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining environments. With a 0.125-inch mill diameter and a 1-inch length of cut, this single-end tool delivers accurate contour and profile milling on a range of workpiece materials. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral geometry with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting action. Micrograin carbide construction provides the hardness and wear resistance needed for consistent performance in production runs. The extra-long overall length of 3 inches extends reach into deep pockets and cavities where standard-length tools cannot access.
This ball end mill is suited for machining operations on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, heat-resistant alloys, and non-metallic materials, corresponding to workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. The extra-long series (1ELB) configuration makes it a practical choice for deep-cavity profiling, rib milling, and complex 3D contouring on CNC machining centers. A 1/8-inch shank diameter matches common collet sizes for secure tool holding. The uncoated micrograin carbide substrate is compatible with various cutting fluid strategies for heat management during extended cuts.
Designed for use on CNC machining centers and milling machines accepting a 1/8-inch shank. Rated for workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering a broad range of ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals, heat-resistant alloys, and composite materials.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked before inserting or removing the tool from the collet or tool holder. Verify collet size matches the 1/8-inch shank diameter and that runout is within acceptable tolerance before beginning a cut. Follow shop safety protocols and machine manufacturer guidelines for speed and feed setup.
