The SGS 33112 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling of contoured surfaces, 3D profiles, and complex geometries in a wide range of workpiece materials. With a 0.5 inch mill diameter, 4-flute configuration, and a 2 inch length of cut, this tool delivers aggressive material removal while maintaining surface finish quality. The micrograin carbide substrate provides the hardness and wear resistance needed for demanding cutting conditions. A 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation. This end mill is used by machinists and CNC operators in job shop and production environments.
This ball end mill is suited for milling ferrous and non-ferrous metals as well as high-temperature alloys and other challenging materials, corresponding to workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. The long-series 1LB configuration with a 4.5 inch overall length allows access to deeper pockets and features that standard-length tools cannot reach. The variable index geometry helps reduce chatter and improves surface finish in both roughing and finishing passes. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC spindle setups.
Designed for use with standard 1/2 inch collet or end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual mills. Suitable for workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S as designated by the manufacturer. Intended for single-end use per Series 1LB specification.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Seat the 0.5 inch shank fully into a clean, correctly sized collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism to the tool holder manufacturer specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cutting program, particularly given the tight shank diameter tolerance of +0.00000 to -0.00043 inches.
