The SGS 33111 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. Built on the Series 1L long-length platform, it features a 0.5-inch cutting diameter and a 2-inch length of cut, making it well-suited for deep-slot milling, profiling, and peripheral milling where a standard-length tool falls short. The four-flute, right-hand spiral geometry with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting action. Micrograin carbide construction delivers edge retention across a broad range of workpiece materials. The variable index design reduces harmonic chatter during aggressive cuts.
This end mill is intended for use on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills in job shop, tool-and-die, and production environments. The Series 1L long-length designation makes it a practical choice when deep features, tall workpiece walls, or extended reach into fixtures require more than a stub or standard-length tool. Primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S indicate suitability for cast iron, non-ferrous alloys, stainless steel, non-metallic materials, carbon and alloy steels, and high-temperature alloys. It arrives uncoated, keeping regrind costs predictable.
Designed for use in standard 0.5-inch collets, end mill holders, and hydraulic or shrink-fit toolholders on CNC and manual milling machines. Compatible with workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out, de-energized state per applicable machine tool safety standards. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully into the toolholder to the recommended gauge-line depth before tightening to prevent tool pull-out. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material being machined.
