The SGS 33106 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling of contoured surfaces, pockets, and 3D profiles. Built from micrograin solid carbide, this 4-flute, single-end tool delivers a 0.3125-inch cutting diameter and a 1.125-inch length of cut. The 30-degree right-hand helix promotes efficient chip evacuation while maintaining a stable cutting edge. The long-length design extends reach into deeper cavities without requiring extended-reach tooling. Variable index spacing reduces harmonic chatter during aggressive cuts. This tool is used in CNC machining centers and manual mills and is installed by machinists and tooling technicians working in production and job shop environments.
The SGS 33106 is suited for milling a broad range of workpiece materials including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless and heat-resistant alloys, titanium, carbon steel, and plastics, corresponding to material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. The long-length configuration makes it well-suited for deep-cavity finishing passes, core and cavity mold work, and profiling operations where standard-length end mills cannot reach. The uncoated micrograin carbide substrate performs reliably across these material groups without requiring a secondary coating for general-purpose applications.
Compatible with workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S as designated by SGS Series 1LB classification, covering cast iron, non-ferrous, stainless, heat-resistant alloys, titanium, and carbon steel. Fits standard 5/16-inch tool holders and collet chucks.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Secure the 5/16-inch shank in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder, and verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Follow machine manufacturer torque specifications for drawbar and collet nut tightening.
