The SGS 32778 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in non-ferrous metal applications. With a 0.5 inch mill diameter, a 0.12 inch corner radius, and three right-hand spiral flutes, this tool delivers controlled roughing cuts with reduced edge chipping on aluminum, brass, copper, and similar materials. The S-Carb 43LC series geometry features a high helix angle and coarse pitch, promoting efficient chip evacuation during aggressive cuts. The bright uncoated finish is well suited to non-ferrous workpieces where coating buildup or chemical reactivity could be a concern. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling technicians typically select this end mill for production milling operations where extended reach is required.
This end mill fits into standard straight-shank end mill toolholders with a 0.5 inch bore. It is built for single-end use and configured for extended reach applications, with a 3.375 inch reach length that allows access into deeper pockets or stepped features without interference from the shank. The 5/8 inch length of cut and 6 inch overall length make it appropriate for CNC machining centers and manual knee mills working with non-ferrous metals in both job shop and production environments. Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state. Inspect the corner radius and cutting edges for chips or damage before each use. Confirm spindle direction and feed-rate parameters in the CNC program before initiating a cut.
