The SGS 32743 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling of non-ferrous metals and similar materials. Built to Series 43L long-reach specifications, it features a 1.0000-inch cutting diameter, a 1.25-inch length of cut, and a 6-inch overall length. The 38-degree spiral helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. A titanium diboride (TiB2) coating adds surface hardness and lubricity, extending tool life in demanding cutting conditions. With three flutes and a right-hand cut orientation, this end mill is suited for high-accuracy finishing and profiling passes. Micrograin carbide substrate supports tight dimensional tolerances across the cutting edge.
This end mill is intended for machining non-ferrous metals, including aluminum alloys, brass, copper, and similar workpiece materials where sharp edges and clean surface finishes are required. The long series configuration and 2.375-inch reach length make it suitable for deep-pocket milling, slot cutting, and contouring operations where standard-length tools cannot reach. It is used in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills by skilled machinists and tool-and-die professionals in production and job-shop environments.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill in SGS Series 43L for non-ferrous metal milling applications. Fits standard straight-cylindrical 1-inch shank tool holders on CNC machining centers and compatible manual milling machines.
Installation and tool changes must be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power isolated per shop safety procedures. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder, ensuring adequate grip length to prevent pullout under cutting loads. Verify runout at the cutting diameter before beginning a production run. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable OSHA machining standards for speeds, feeds, and workholding when setting up this tool.
