The SGS 32701 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in non-ferrous metal machining applications. Built to Series 43L specifications, it features a 0.1875-inch cutting diameter, a 0.2188-inch length of cut, and a 38-degree helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The micrograin carbide construction delivers edge retention and rigidity well beyond what high-speed steel tools offer. With three flutes, a right-hand cut, and a bright uncoated finish, this end mill suits shops running aluminum, copper, brass, and similar non-ferrous workpiece materials on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is classified as a long-reach tool with a 0.5-inch reach length, making it well suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations where extended reach into a workpiece is required. The straight cylindrical shank diameter of 0.1875 inches fits standard collet and end mill holder tooling commonly found on vertical machining centers. Its centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry without pre-drilling. Designed for use with standard 3/16-inch (0.1875-inch) collets and end mill holders on CNC vertical machining centers and manual milling machines. Primary workpiece material designation is non-ferrous metals (Material Code N), including aluminum, brass, copper, and similar alloys.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the spindle fully powered down and locked. Secure the straight cylindrical shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder, torquing to the machine manufacturer's specified clamping force — do not estimate by feel. Inspect the cutting edges and shank for chips or runout before use. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine guarding requirements during all milling operations.
