The SGS 32691 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling of non-ferrous metals and similar materials. It features a 1/8 inch (0.1250 inch) cutting diameter, a 5/32 inch (0.1562 inch) length of cut, and a 3 inch overall length, making it well suited for extended-reach applications where standard-length tools cannot access tight geometries. The three-flute, right-hand spiral design with a 38-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. This is an uncoated, centercutting tool, meaning it can plunge directly into the workpiece. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals use this tool in CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is intended for milling non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, brass, copper, and similar soft materials where a sharp, uncoated carbide edge performs well. The long-reach configuration, with a 3/4 inch neck length and a reduced neck diameter of 0.1050 inches, allows access to deep pockets and slots where standard-length tools would interfere with surrounding workpiece features. It fits applications in aerospace, automotive, and general precision machining shops where tight tolerances and clean surface finishes are required in difficult-to-reach areas.
Designed as a Series 43 SGS solid carbide square end mill for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines equipped with a collet or tool holder accepting a 1/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or collet system is de-energized before inserting or removing the tool. Secure the 1/8 inch straight shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder to the tool holder manufacturer's specified clamping torque range - do not over-tighten or use an improperly sized holder, as this can damage the shank or cause runout. Verify runout and tool projection before initiating a cut, particularly given the reduced neck diameter on this extended-reach geometry.
