The SGS 32633 is a 5-flute, solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal and finishing in demanding machining environments. With a 7/16-inch (0.4375-inch) mill diameter and a 0.015-inch corner radius, it blends edge protection with precision contouring capability. The AlTiN coating — sold under SGS's Ti-NAMITE-A designation — provides heat resistance and extended tool life in high-temperature cutting conditions. A 2-inch length of cut paired with a 4-inch overall length classifies this as an extra-long reach tool, making it well suited for deep-pocket and slotting operations where standard-length tools fall short. Right-hand cutting, right-hand flute direction, and a high helix angle support efficient chip evacuation.
The 32633 is engineered for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium, and is rated for secondary application in hard materials. Its variable index geometry reduces harmonic chatter during aggressive cuts, making it a practical choice for both roughing and finishing passes without a tool change. The straight-cylindrical shank (7/16 inch, h6 tolerance) mounts directly into standard end mill holders. Typical applications include mold work, aerospace component machining, and general CNC mill operations where corner integrity and tool rigidity are critical.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders. Compatible with CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with a 7/16-inch straight-cylindrical shank collet or holder. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium; secondary application in hard materials. Part of the SGS Series 55CR (55C) product family.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Seat the shank fully in the end mill holder and torque the set screw or collet to the holder manufacturer's specification before spindle operation. Verify runout at the cutting end with a dial indicator before engaging the workpiece. This tool is not center-cutting — avoid plunge cuts directly into solid material; use ramping or helical interpolation entry strategies instead.
