The SGS 32620 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal and finishing in demanding machining environments. It features a 5/16 inch diameter with a 0.015 inch corner radius, five flutes, and an AlTiN (Ti-NAMITE-A) coating that extends tool life when cutting hard and abrasive workpiece materials. The 13/16 inch length of cut and 2.5 inch overall length suit a range of slotting, profiling, and contouring operations. Variable index geometry helps reduce chatter and improve surface finish. This end mill is intended for use by machinists and tooling technicians running CNC machining centers or manual mills with end mill holders.
The SGS 32620 is rated for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials, making it well-suited for aerospace, medical, mold and die, and general precision machining applications. The single-end, right-hand cutting and right-hand flute configuration is standard for conventional end mill setups. The high helix style improves chip evacuation, which is particularly beneficial when machining gummy stainless steels and titanium alloys. This tool covers both roughing and finishing operations in a single setup, reducing tool changes on the shop floor.
Designed for use with end mill holders in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines. Intended for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium, as well as secondary hard material applications. Part of the SGS Series 55CR product line.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism per the holder manufacturer specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cut, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear and reduce corner radius accuracy.
