The SGS 32598 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill built for demanding metal removal in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. It measures 5/8 inches in diameter with a 0.0300 inch corner radius and a 3/4 inch length of cut. The five-flute, single-end design supports both roughing and finishing operations. An AlTiN coating — designated Ti-NAMITE-A by SGS — provides thermal resistance and wear protection at high cutting speeds. The 45-degree high helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation. Overall length is 3 inches with a 5/8 inch straight cylindrical shank. Variable index spacing reduces harmonic vibration during aggressive cuts. This tool is intended for use in end mill toolholders on CNC machining centers and manual mills operated by machinists and toolroom professionals.
The SGS 32598 Series 55C end mill is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium, covering ISO material groups P, M, K, and S. It also handles hard secondary workpiece materials (ISO group H). The short flute length and rigid five-flute geometry make it appropriate for slotting, profiling, and contouring applications where tool deflection must be minimized. Right-hand cutting direction and right-hand flute spiral are standard. This tool does not feature centercutting geometry, so plunge entry requires a pre-drilled entry point or ramping strategy.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer's clamping specifications. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the end mill. Seat the shank to the minimum recommended insertion depth for the toolholder in use. This tool does not have centercutting capability — avoid direct plunge entry; use a ramping or helical interpolation entry strategy instead.
