The SGS 32586 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding metalworking applications. It carries a 3/4 inch diameter, a 0.06 inch corner radius, and five flutes arranged in a right-hand helical configuration with variable index geometry. The AlTiN coating, marketed under SGS proprietary designation Ti-NAMITE-A, provides elevated heat and wear resistance suited for dry or high-speed cutting conditions. The 45-degree high helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. At 4 inches overall length with a 1-5/8 inch length of cut, this tool is appropriate for roughing and finishing passes across a range of workpiece materials. Professional machinists and tool-and-die tradespeople are the primary installers of this end mill.
This end mill is engineered for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium, as well as hard materials. It fits standard end mill holders and features a 3/4 inch Weldon flat shank for secure clamping in milling setups. The single-end, non-centercutting geometry makes it appropriate for peripheral milling, slotting, and profiling operations where corner integrity and surface finish are critical. It is listed under SGS Series 55CR and carries material grade designation C2. The variable index flute spacing reduces harmonic chatter during aggressive cuts, making it a practical choice for difficult-to-machine alloys and hardened steels.

Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the milling machine spindle is fully stopped and de-energized before changing tooling. Secure the Weldon flat shank firmly in a compatible end mill holder using the appropriate set screw torqued per the holder manufacturer specification. Confirm runout and tool projection before beginning the cut, and verify that feeds and speeds are appropriate for the workpiece material and machine capability.
