The SGS 32585 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining environments. Built to the 55C series specification, it features a 3/4 inch diameter, a 1-5/8 inch length of cut, and a 0.0600 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge. The AlTiN coating — marketed under SGS's Ti-NAMITE-A designation — provides thermal resistance and extended tool life at elevated cutting speeds. With 5 flutes and a variable index geometry, this end mill balances chip evacuation with surface finish quality. It is suited for both roughing and finishing passes in a single setup.
This end mill is engineered for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The high helix angle promotes aggressive chip flow and reduces cutting forces, making it appropriate for CNC machining centers running tight-tolerance components. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard end mill toolholders with a 3/4 inch bore. Right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting orientation are standard. This tool is a single-end design with no chipbreaker and no coolant-through capability, so flood or mist coolant delivery at the spindle is recommended for best performance in ferrous and exotic alloys.

Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the CNC control in a safe state. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer's specifications. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before engaging the workpiece, as excessive runout accelerates flute wear on carbide tools. A licensed machinist or qualified CNC operator should set feeds, speeds, and depth of cut based on workpiece material and machine rigidity.
