The SGS 32570 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. It features a 5/8 inch (0.6250 inch) mill diameter, a 2-1/2 inch length of cut, and a 0.03 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life. With five helical flutes and a right-hand cutting direction, this end mill is built for both roughing and finishing passes. The AlTiN coating — marketed under SGS proprietary designation Ti-NAMITE-A — provides heat resistance and wear protection at elevated cutting temperatures. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals use this tool in CNC machining centers with standard end mill holders.
The SGS 32570 is suited for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Its variable index geometry and high helix style support chip evacuation and vibration reduction during long-reach cuts. With a 5 inch overall length and a 5/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank, it fits standard end mill holders used in vertical and horizontal machining centers. This is a single-end tool in the Series 55CR family, rated for aggressive material removal in production and job shop environments.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders. Compatible with primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium, as well as secondary hard materials. Belongs to the SGS Series 55CR family.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the end mill holder and torque the retention screw or collet to the holder manufacturer's specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before initiating the cutting program, as this tool carries a mill diameter tolerance of -0.0020 to 0.0000 inches.
