The SGS 32418 is a solid carbide tapered ball end mill designed for precision contouring, profiling, and finishing operations in CNC machining applications. Built to Series 24B specifications, it features a 1.5-degree taper angle per side with a 3/16-inch small end diameter and a 3/8-inch shank diameter. The ball end geometry with a 3/32-inch nose radius produces smooth, accurate radii on three-dimensional contoured surfaces. Three spiral flutes with a 28-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and reduce cutting forces. The uncoated micrograin carbide construction delivers consistent edge integrity across a wide range of workpiece materials.
This end mill is suited for finishing passes and slotting in molds, dies, and precision-machined components where a tapered wall profile is required. The 1-3/4-inch length of cut and 3-1/2-inch overall length provide reach into deep cavities without excessive tool deflection. It is center-cutting, allowing plunge entry. Typical applications include die steels, cast irons, stainless steels, aluminum alloys, superalloys, and non-ferrous materials corresponding to material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S.
Designed for use with workpiece material groups H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, aluminum alloys, superalloys, and non-ferrous materials. Accepts standard 3/8-inch collet or tool holders.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC programmers familiar with end mill toolpath parameters. Secure the 3/8-inch shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder to the manufacturer-specified runout tolerance before operation. Verify spindle speed, feed rate, and depth of cut against the material being machined prior to first use. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace the tool if chipping or excessive wear is observed.
