The SGS 32410 is a tapered ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in demanding material applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide, this tool delivers the rigidity and edge retention required for cutting ferrous alloys, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, plastics, and superalloys. The ball end geometry produces a 1/16 inch nose radius, making it well suited for contoured surface work, 3D profiling, and finishing passes in tight areas. With a 5-degree taper per side, it bridges small-feature access with controlled wall geometry. Three spiral flutes with a 28-degree helix angle and a bright uncoated finish keep the tool running efficiently across a broad range of workpiece materials.
This end mill is built for machinists and tooling specialists running CNC machining centers in job shop, aerospace, medical, and general precision manufacturing environments. The 1/8 inch small end diameter and 3/4 inch length of cut make it appropriate for fine detail work, die and mold contouring, and narrow-slot profiling where a straight end mill cannot access tapered walls or angled draft surfaces. The 1/4 inch shank fits standard collet systems. This tool is center-cutting, allowing plunge entry without a pre-drilled start hole.
Rated for primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S per the supplier specification, covering cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, non-metals, steel, and superalloys. Part of the SGS Series 24B tapered ball end mill line.
Installation is performed by a machinist or tooling technician using a standard ER or TG collet chuck sized for a 1/4 inch shank. Verify runout at the collet before beginning any cut, as micrograin carbide is brittle and sensitive to misalignment. Confirm spindle speed and feed rate are set per the material group before engaging the workpiece. Never exceed the rated depth of cut for the listed length of cut of 3/4 inch.
