The SGS 31419 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precise milling operations in a wide range of materials. Built from micrograin carbide, it offers the rigidity and edge retention needed for demanding cuts. The tool features a 0.1719 inch mill diameter, a 0.3125 inch length of cut, and a 2 inch overall length with a 3/16 inch straight-cylindrical shank. With 4 spiral flutes and a 30-degree helix angle, it generates efficient chip evacuation and consistent surface finishes. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry make it compatible with standard milling setups. The double-end design and centercutting capability add versatility for slotting and plunge operations.
The SGS 31419 is suited for machining a broad spectrum of workpiece materials including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, aluminum, steel alloys, and high-temperature alloys, corresponding to material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. Its stub length classification makes it well suited for applications where rigidity is critical and overhang must be minimized, such as shallow-depth pocket milling, slotting, and profiling in CNC machining centers or manual knee mills. The uncoated finish is appropriate for applications where coating-related tolerances or lubrication preferences favor bare carbide.

Installation and use of this end mill should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC programmer. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling.
