The SGS 31141 is a 3-flute solid carbide ball end mill engineered for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 0.1875-inch mill diameter with a 0.625-inch length of cut and a 2-inch overall length. The AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting hard and abrasive workpiece materials. The micrograin carbide substrate supports rigidity and edge retention at elevated cutting speeds. This tool is installed and operated by machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC programmers working in production and job-shop environments.
The SGS 31141 is suited for milling ferrous and non-ferrous metals across a range of material classifications including hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous alloys, general steels, and superalloys, corresponding to material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. The 30-degree right-hand spiral flute geometry promotes chip evacuation and smooth cutting action in both roughing and finishing passes. Single-end configuration makes this a standard replacement tool for CNC machining centers and manual mills running regular-length toolpaths.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement ball end mill for CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting a 3/16-inch straight shank tool holder. Shank diameter tolerance is +0.00000 to -0.00032 inches for precise collet and end-mill-holder fitment.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in an e-stop or tool-change state before loading or unloading this end mill. Use a properly sized collet or end mill holder rated for the 0.1875-inch shank diameter, and verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material classification being machined.
