The SGS 30781 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in metalworking and machining applications. It features a 0.1719-inch cutting diameter, a 0.625-inch length of cut, and a 3-flute spiral geometry with a 30-degree helix angle. The TiCN coating improves surface hardness and lubricity, extending tool life in demanding cutting conditions. The micrograin carbide substrate provides rigidity and wear resistance suited to close-tolerance work. This end mill is a single-end, right-hand cut tool with right-hand fluting and a straight cylindrical shank of 0.1875 inches diameter. It is sized at 2 inches overall length, fitting compact toolholding setups on CNC mills and machining centers.
This end mill is built for milling operations across a broad range of workpiece materials, including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, and general steels, corresponding to material groups H, K, M, N, P, and S. The 11/64-inch cutting diameter makes it suitable for slot milling, profiling, and finishing passes in tight geometries. The regular-length format and 3/16-inch shank make it compatible with standard collet chucks and end mill holders used in both production and job-shop environments. It is centercutting, allowing plunge entry as part of a toolpath strategy.
Designed for use with workpiece material groups H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering cast iron, non-ferrous, stainless, heat-resistant alloys, and general steels. Fits standard 3/16-inch collet chucks and end mill holders. Part of the SGS Series 5 end mill line.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Secure the shank in a clean, undamaged collet or end mill holder and torque to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Confirm runout before cutting, as small-diameter carbide tooling is sensitive to setup error. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut for the cutting diameter, and verify spindle direction matches the right-hand cut orientation before starting the program.
