The SGS 30547 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. It features a 3/8-inch cutting diameter, a 1-inch length of cut, and a 2-1/2-inch overall length. The three-flute, spiral flute geometry with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Manufactured from micrograin solid carbide, this end mill delivers consistent performance in demanding material removal applications. It is uncoated and center-cutting, allowing plunge cuts as well as standard peripheral and slot milling. Installation is handled by machinists and CNC operators working in production or job-shop settings.
The SGS 30547 is suited for milling a broad range of workpiece materials, including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, heat-resistant alloys, steel, and non-metallic materials, corresponding to material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. Its straight-cylindrical shank with a 3/8-inch diameter fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders. The regular-length profile makes it appropriate for general-purpose slot milling, profile milling, and contouring operations on vertical and horizontal machining centers as well as manual knee mills.
Designed for use in standard 3/8-inch collet chucks and end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines. Compatible with workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S as specified by SGS Series 5 tooling classifications.
This end mill is installed by machinists or CNC setup technicians using a compatible collet chuck or end mill holder sized for a 3/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and de-energized before tool changes. Verify runout and tool projection before starting a cut. Follow shop-standard speeds and feeds for the specific workpiece material and operation type.
