The SGS 30532 is a single-end ball end mill designed for precision milling in a wide range of materials. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers consistent cutting performance and extended tool life compared to high-speed steel alternatives. The 0.25 inch diameter cutter features a 0.75 inch length of cut (LOC) and a 30-degree helix angle with three right-hand spiral flutes. The uncoated finish makes it suitable for applications where specific coating properties are not required. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals use this end mill for profiling, contouring, and slotting operations where a ball nose geometry is needed to produce radiused floors and complex 3D surface features.
The SGS 30532 is well suited for milling operations on a broad spectrum of workpiece materials, including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, steel, stainless steel, heat-resistant alloys, and non-metallic materials, corresponding to material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. Its regular-length, single-end configuration fits standard CNC machining centers and manual mills with a 0.25 inch collet or end mill holder. The 2.5 inch overall length provides adequate clearance for most standard fixture setups without sacrificing rigidity.
Compatible with workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S as specified by the manufacturer, covering cast iron, non-ferrous metals, steel, stainless steel, heat-resistant alloys, and non-metallic materials. Fits any 0.25 inch collet, ER collet chuck, or end mill holder in standard CNC or manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling professional. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the end mill from the tool holder. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder to the recommended grip length and torque the retention mechanism per the tool holder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut to protect both the tool and the workpiece.
