The SGS 30446 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding industrial and machining applications. With a 0.25-inch mill diameter, 0.75-inch length of cut, and a 2.5-inch overall length, this single-end tool delivers tight tolerances and repeatable performance. The 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation, while the AlTiN coating provides heat resistance and extended tool life in high-temperature cutting environments. Made from micrograin carbide, the 30446 handles a wide range of workpiece materials including hardened steels, cast iron, stainless, non-ferrous alloys, and superalloys. It is suited for machinists and tooling professionals working on CNC mills and machining centers.
This end mill is appropriate for milling operations on materials classified under ISO material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. Those include tool steels, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous materials, carbon and alloy steels, and heat-resistant superalloys. The regular-length, straight cylindrical shank fits standard collets and tool holders used in vertical and horizontal machining centers. It is centercutting, allowing plunge entry when required by the operation.
Designed for use in standard CNC milling operations where a 0.25-inch straight cylindrical shank end mill is required. Compatible with workpiece materials classified as hardened steels (H), cast iron (K), stainless steel (M), non-ferrous alloys (N), carbon and alloy steels (P), and heat-resistant superalloys (S) per ISO material group designations.
This end mill is installed and serviced by machinists and CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in a clean, undamaged collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism per the tool holder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or wear before each use and replace if edge integrity is compromised.
